Transmit/Receive antenna switches, for SDR and others

A transmit-receive switch is always required if you want to operate separate transmitters and receivers on one antenna. This has been the classic antenna relay of any transceiver for decades, but now with the advent of SDR receivers it has become popular again as an external relay.

This is because modern SDR technology offers a radio amateur excellent expansion possibilities for a normal radio: bandscope, waterfall display and much more. And to make better use of the existing antenna, the external relay switches between the transceiver and the SDR receiver. Very safe and comfortable.

FAQ

What are Tx/Rx antenna switches used for?
Transmit and receive antenna switches are used to switch the signal from an antenna to a receiver or vice versa. These switches are especially useful when connecting multiple devices to a single antenna.
How does a transmit and receive antenna switch work?
A transmit and receive antenna switch uses electromechanical or electronic circuits to switch the signal from an antenna to a receiver or vice versa. The switch has several connections that can be connected to the respective devices.
Can I install a transmit and receive antenna switch myself?
Yes, you can install a transmit and receive antenna switch yourself. However, the installation requires a certain understanding of electronics and may require some special tools. It is recommended to hire a technician if you are uncertain or have no experience with installation.
