The coaxial cables from SSB-Electronic GmbH are extremely flexible, low loss and stray radiation resistant. Depending on the cable type, they can be used in the frequency range up to 12 GHz. The inner conductor is made either of low oxygen copper or copper-clad aluminium (Hybrid CCA) and is designed as a wire or strand. Advanced manufacturing techniques and the use of a low loss PE dielectric with a foaming rate of more than 70% enable low attenuation values. To achieve good screening attenuation, the outer conductor is made of two layers – the braiding of bare copper wires is applied to a thin, overlapping copper foil. The braid shielding factor varies from 70 to 85% depending on the cable type. The copper foil has an applied PE coating which prevents foil cracking due to short radius bends. The jacket of the cables is made of UV-resistant PVC or a special thermoplastic copolymer (FRNC), depending on the cable type.
The coaxial cables of Heatex® series were created due to increasing requirements on fire safety. They are free of halogen, flame retardant and have low fire propagation properties. According to the EU Construction Products Regulation and the corresponding harmonized standard hEN 50575, Heatex® cables are rated as Euroclass Cca and therefore suitable for use in public buildings with high fire safety requirements. The Cca rating ensures that Heatex® cables meet important classification criteria regarding flame spread, heat release, smoke production, acidity and burning droplets and comply with all relevant standards. The Cca rating also implies that Heatex® coaxial cables are subject to special cable testing procedures and must meet the strict requirements of the highest performance verification system (system 1+). For this reason, Heatex® coaxial cables are particularly suitable for use in high-density public buildings (e.g. in schools, hotels, stores, office buildings and tower buildings) as well as in any area with poor ventilation (e.g. in underground car parks).
The coaxial cables of SeaTex® series are designed for use under harsh environmental conditions. These special cables meet the SHF2 standard and are the first choice for marine and offshore applications due to their worldwide SHF shipbuilding approval (DNV GL certificate). The jacket of the SeaTex® cables is made of a special thermoplastic copolymer (SHF2), which makes the cables highly resistant to heat, cold, oils, salt water, UV radiation and weather influences and offers a long service life in harsh environments. Typically SeaTex® cables are used on ships, oil platforms, oil rigs and in wind turbines.
